That said, you don't have to have read all of that by then — but the more you have read, the more you will get out of the session. :)
It reflects a dialectic between youth's physical passion and maturity's intellectual passion which are resolved in the synthesis of Alyosha's wisdom in old age. And of course the ages reflect the 3 brothers reflect the length of time they came into being which is the reverse of the brothers' ages.
You should also discuss Smerdyakov - the fourth brother, the half brother, son of the affair with Stinking Lizaveta, and what he represents. He was also the actual murderer in the story.

That time makes it impossible to join since it's right in the middle of work day, especially on the West Coast. Bummer.
I wonder if like my own character development Dostoevsky is reflecting upon his with the 3 brothers which are as follows:
Youth - Dmitri the eldest
Manhood - Ivan the 2nd oldest
Old age - Alyosha, the youngest.
