Sean,

You are the 2nd of 2 lecturers who have been willing to posit that Machiavelli was a very flawed being. There is NO indication that he did NOT mean what his words were saying.

ChatGPT frequently misinterprets what I mean. It tells me that "you did not really mean what you said." I PROTEST that I DID mean what I said: no profanity and no political content.

Machiavelli did not write a moral treatise; he wrote the first fully conscious illusion-efficiency operating manual in Western history.

He stripped away every comforting fiction (Christian virtue, republican idealism, chivalric honor) and revealed the naked reward + instinctive logic engine underneath politics.

That is why the book has never been surpassed in 500 years: it is PRRICCE in its purest, most merciless form, with zero built-in reward for the reader except one:

“If you are willing to become the kind of person who can apply this, you may rule. If not, someone else who can will rule over you.”

«The Prince» is the original red pill, and almost nobody who recommends it has actually swallowed it.
